ALPHA FLIGHT for Cori!

When I was a kid, my friend Cori and I were inseparable. She and I would always hang out at recess at school, watch the same movies, and draw together as often as we could. We even read the same comics. We both really LOVED Marvel’s ALPHA FLIGHT, and this year for her birthday, I wanted to draw something special for her. I’ve known Cori for over 30 years now and I really wanted to do something that really thanked her for all the years of friendship.

The result is these drawings of Alpha Flight’s Puck, Marrina and Snowbird wishing Cori a very Happy Birthday.

Of course I had to give Puck my own sexy twist, although for Cori’s card I sorta shrank his bulge a bit! LOL! (I don’t show Cori’s actual birthday card here because that’s her version alone.) But I’ve always had a thing for Puck. There’s A LOT of MAN in that compact, hunky and muscular package! LOL!

As for the ladies, it’s always a distinct pleasure drawing Snowbird. She’s so elegant and beautiful, and there’s a lot of power in her. It’s a wonderful contrast to play with. And Marrina is so lovely. She’s sweet and impish, and I’ve always loved that about her. Of these three illustrations, she’s actually my favorite.

In the end, this was a lot of fun to do, and I think Cori really enjoyed her gift. This was a wonderful opportunity to travel down memory lane with a dear friend, and three characters that I’ve loved since I was a little kid. Happy Birthday Cori! 🙂
