If drawing my SCI-FI HEROINES is teaching me anything, it’s that I need to take time to draw for ME more often — draw who and what I want to! As much as I love drawing my Boytoons and the art I create for Class Comics, it can become “work” at times, and a little change feels good. So, feeling inspired on this late Saturday evening, I went to my drawing board with one goal in mind! DRAW SCULLY!
I’ve been itching to draw the beautiful and insanely smart Agent Dana Scully for what feels like FOREVER! The X-FILES remains one of my favorite television series, and I frequently re-visit the show on DVD. Scully and Mulder were the perfect team, and while Scully started out as a non-believer, she eventually came to see that the truth really was out there.
I admired her from the very start of the show. Yes she’s gorgeous, but she’s far more than just a pretty face. She’s a total BRAIN too! She’s a scientist, a medical doctor and she has nerves of steel! She is a true heroine in every sense of the word and I admire her immensely.
Perfectly portrayed on the X-Files by the lovely and talented Gillian Anderson, Scully went where no FBI agent had dared before… and along with her various partners (Fox Mulder, John Doggett and Monica Reyes, who incidentally, I also adore and consider one of my Sci-Fi Heroines!) uncovered things that were bizarre, wondrous and truly frightening for 9 glorious seasons and 2 feature films.
My love and appreciation for Scully is absolutely eternal, and drawing her tonight was a complete pleasure! Enjoy!

I completely understand where you’re coming from. Sometimes you just a little need time to draw for yours truly. Hunks , and studs, and all of the other fabulously delicious men will always be there when ya get back. Aaah….the amazing Miss Scullly. 🙂 Nicely done, Patrick.
